Who do you KNOW!?

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Lately, I have been working 2 jobs... (Paraprofessional & Program Assistant) all with kids from K-8th grade.
On top of working two jobs, I have lots of mini-projects and important business ventures, I have set up to strengthen my foundation as a :
  • Creative Director/Manager
  • Songwriter
  • PR consultant
  • Performer
  • Videographer
  • Photographer
I have realized, that waiting on someone else to make your dreams come true is not the right direction,
at least not for me.
I would like to quote a GREAT Duo,
Mary Mary, who Proclaims... "Go Get, Go Get, Go Get- Go Get Your Blessings!"
I am a big believer of Self-Encouragement.
As a child, Competition was & is like Breathing.. Its Second nature.
I just knew that there was no challenge I truly feared besides heights.

I have been traveling down a road that I call success and I noticed that this road is not a easy road, but I refuse to  take a detour. I have invited lots of my family and friends to join me. Together we get together and support one another 100%.
I have truly learned through this process, its not WHAT-YOU-KNOW, but its WHO-YOU-KNOW!
That Facebook account that most of us have, holds a vasts NETWORK of people we have encountered someway, somehow through life.
I have reconnected with lots of high school and college friends to chase after my dreams.
I WILL SOON BE ONTO THE NEXT GOALS that come with a 6+ digit salary in my account. I feel it.
Recently, I have managed several photoshoots, where 3 of my sisters from high school have all been helping and supporting me. Its truly a blessing to be around people, just like you, going through similar experiences. Sharing and connecting with them 7 years after high school is inspiring on so many levels because we all are far from complacency. They all have children and are all the same age... If they can do it... So can you!
  1. Karisma has 3 kids (2 girls and a new baby boy),with her Fiancee', has a job, Bachelors and on the side pursues one of her passions which is doing Make-up
  2. April has 2 boys and a amazing husband, who has produced her entire Album and currently is pursuing one of her many Passions as a rising Gospel artists. See Blog Post "Snow-In, But Still Working"
  3. Tiff, has one daughter, a bachelors and loves her career as social worker with families.
These 3 LADIES/MOTHERS/PHENOMENAL WOMEN are quite inspiring as many of my classmates from high school. Growing up in East Orange, NJ wasn't a walk in the park at all... But I have noticed and appreciate the MANY Great Entrepreneurs and Business leaders on each of the social networks. And I have to say they are all quite inspiring. Makes me proud to be from Jersey and the first-Born to the most PHENOMENAL Woman in My life, My MOM!!! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO THEM ALL and ALL of the MOMS that READ MY BLOG!
Here's a little behind the scenes video of a photo-shoot I managed.

... I LOVE MY NETWORK A.K.A La FAMILIA!

This weekend was quite intense for me and my peeps...
But with all the punches that came our way,
we all found a way to prevail!

Introducing, my 1st cousin/ sister/ best friend,
  Ms. SaFee!
@mssafee (iG)
She has been keeping me posted about her brand launch of virgin hair bundles and line of eyelashes.
My AMAZING network of Friends and Family came together and all chipped in with there MANY TALENTS & EFFORTS to make her dream come true.
Ms. SaFee got together with A.G.A Creative Outlet for an AMAZING PHOTO-SHOOT to feature her LINE of VIRGIN hair-bundles and EYE-LASHES.
It was honestly amazing to see a group of young AFRO-American ADULTS from many of the same URBAN areas get together and WORK on a PROJECT. Allegedly, we  (as African Americans) don't have the ability to congregate, focus, unify, conquer and create magic. Well this project proved otherwise. This project went beyond friendship and was about BUSINESS!
I love how I basically brought together a group of people (Some familiar with others, but newly acquainted) who proved to me that UNITY of Great Talent and Artists is exactly what we all need to do in order to strengthen OUR individual and collective brand.

SIDE-BAR: Living my whole life in NJ and pursuing my dreams within the music business... I have noticed MUCH separation and LESS UNITY, throughout my years and pursuit as a Songwriter and/or SINGER. From visiting many open-mics jams in North jersey to South Jersey; I have MET TONS of SINGERS, PRODUCERS & MUSICIANS!
That Atmosphere REEKS of hopelessness, selfishness, and spitefulness... Just to collaborate with the AWESOME TALENT is like pulling teeth... Everyone wants to be better than the other person... Yet no one is making any real moves into the right direction.... I would hope that MOST of them would have had that GREAT EPIPHANY so that NJ talent can be RELEASED and everyone can be heard, but the idea seem so faint when everyone seems to be out for SELF and SELF only.... Watching PuFF DaDDY's Bad Boy videos alerted me that... YOU NEED A NETWORK!
Remember its not WHAT you know!
It's WHO you KNOW!
My Instagram showcases small clips of the photo shoot @JoeSpiFF
I hope you all ENJOY!

90's ATTACK!!!

Happy Sunday!
The Good weather has been melting the GLACIERS! Yay!!!
So, you all wanted the 90's back...
Well...  it is slowly creeping back
Up to date, Many of the 90's R&B singers and  the style has made a comeback in some way or form.
Whether it's Chris Brown re-doing a SWV & MJ joint or ASAP Rocky and his crew reminding us of Kriss Kross... The 90's seem to be a decade that refuses to be forgotten.
SEEMS LIKE R&B SANGERS HAVE ALL HAD ENOUGH!
They are ready to take MUSIC BACK and they are coming full force.

I recall, Brandy being the first R&B Boss to do a reality television series about her pregnancy on MTV and later, Ray J and Brandy: Family Business on VH1.  Then from, Dancing With the Stars, to starring on, The Game, and DROPPING an album after her Mentor, the GREAT, Whitney Houston passed away.
She definitely used reality television to gain back her presence as an, A-Lists celebrity. Brandy has shown the persistence and constantly staying in the public's eye, will get you far.
Now with shows like the +BraxtonFamily Values and SWV: Reunited, to R&B Divas L.A. & ATL and more... Even, R&B group Total (Tripping/ Kissing You).
Many of the Soloists and Groups are reuniting to make attempt to make GREAT comebacks, in some way shape of form.
These vocalists now have a platform to not only capture the ride or die fans, but now are capable of snagging the attention of the new generations...With the help of television and NEW MEDIA ( Instagram,VINE, twitter, tumblr, Youtube, Blogs, etc...) artists' from the past are able to track their following and book shows once again, as if they never left the scene.
I RESPECT that, REAL SANGERS have QUIT being the VICTIMS and realized their talent and presence were really missed by their FANS!
The FANS are the REAL reasons many Singers were able to access FAME in the first place
R&B is on a FAST pace when it comes to the females.
In the male department, not so much the same drive, but I have hope.
Although the 90's music is making a comeback... Can these once top of the chart SANGERS sell records? Brandy did well last year with her comeback... But we shall see if they can truly convince the NEW GENERATION!

In the meantime, I want you all to take heed, that it is BLACK HISTORY MONTH!
Here is my Bro, @lamiie Speech! I would introduce it, but lets see how many folks can receive the MESSAGE without any Filters.

...And the Beat goes ON.

Good Afternoon...
I have been trying to decide on what I should blog about next.
Now these pasts few days...
I have managed to spend my time WISELY!

The NBA All Star Weekend was quite entertaining,
Especially when you think about all the after parties, performances and events happening around it.

I felt bad for a new artist, Aloe Blacc...

Last night, He was quite OFF-KEY and OUT-of-SYNC with the LIVE band...
BUT, you can tell that dude-man can SING... But it was just one of those poor performances that occured.
  • BEYONCE tumbled down steps
  • MICHELLE tripped on LIVE television
  • ALICIA KEYS tripped on stage pregnant a few times
and MANY artists have had there moments...
It happen to the BEST of US.
JUST next time around...
He gotta GO-HARD!
No second chances for a long time lol.
It just unfortunate that we are getting to know you and this happens!
KEEP YA HEAD UP PLAYA!

So NICKI Minaj dropped a DOPE NEW VIDEO! and a BOMB after..smh..

Got a lot of dudes salty & confused since women were just 'Drunk In Love.'

To me it's funny.. That song in NO WAY reflects ME so.... lol

I just think its FUNNY how every Celeb is Pulling PUBLICITY STUNTS EVERYWHERE!
From Drake to Kanye to Towanda to Lil Kim to Omarion to Beyonce
to even Beiber and MILEY (Fake Wildin' LOL)
Dang to stay commercial you gotta keep pushing that envelope. SHEESH!

As long as they can stay TRUE to their art and THEMSELVES... I ain't Judging...
Speaking of  TRUE Talent....
I wanted to Shout out my Lil bro's Blog EXISTENCE...

On his Blog, he displays his art , experience, inspiration and many projects/Collabs.

HOLLA @ him!

Snowed-IN, but STILL WORKING!

Hola there!!! Bretherens & Hermana'ssss!!!!
Outside looks terrible... but shove-able!
Thank GOD!
The storm caused HUGE ice Glaciers to BLOCK PARKING near sidewalks EVERYWHERE!

But back to more important news!
I hope that EVERYONE has SALT, Shovels & Endurance! {no gym membership required} lol

So lately a Brotha- That's Me!
Has been hustling.
I have been working with Models lately...

AND now a Gospel Artist...
There is a Phenomenal Artist named,
April Brown, whom I have known for about 12 years! YIKES! lol
Ever since Freshmen year of HIGH SCHOOL, I have known April.

She is not only a GREAT vocalists, but from her CLASSY STYLE to HUMOR to SKILLS ON DRUMS to DANCE... I always knew she was TOO TALENTED to NOT be KNOWN.

Her Album debut was in May 2013.
Ever since then she has been on a journey to capture young Souls for the KINGDOM.
I am VERY proud of her SUCCESS thus far.
She is Married to an EQUALLY Talented man,
DEMAR BROWN who produced the Album with his EYE's CLOSED!

They got married at my church and I witnessed THEIR LOVE! After the marriage, they had 2 BOYS!!! 5 Years later these two are still kicking it and chasing their dreams as a Family!

Her Album, "The INCEPTION," is AWESOME!...
I am hype about it because She and Demar definitely infused all of their connections, soul, worship, and heart in each and every TRACK. I bump her "DEVOTION-(JERSEY BUMP) Every Morning!
The album instrumentation is awesome... All CHURCH-HEADS no after service or in MUSIC REHEARSAL, the YOUNG INSTRUMENTALISTS tend to show their MUSICAL TALENTS!.... THIS ALBUM HAS THAT!!!! JERSEY-STYLE!!!!!!!!!!!
The worship is for EVERYONE.. I guarantee its not too MUCH  vocal RUNS & SHOUTING... the ALBUM is worth it, especially when it comes to building on your relationship with GOD... @Aprilbrownmusic #aprilBROWNmusic

P.S THEY ARE CELEBRATING THEIR 5th ANNIVERSARY Tomorrow on VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Mr. SpiFF...at Your SERVICES

Most people hear my last name and quickly connect it to smoking...
I am Joe SPIFF... not SpliFF... but I get the confusion and have decided to keep my Brand name the same.

If I want to be known and have people pronouncing my name CORRECTLY, a brother needs to earn that respect...
A challenge that I will generously accept.
Now SpiFF is not my original last name... No, that name is way more AWESOME than SpiFF.

The term SpiFF is actually derived from "SpiFFy" that also describes many facets of who I am.

Since Middle School (Grades 6-8 for North Jersey heads-lol)...
I have always stuck to the dress code of uniforms although it wasn't mandatory (cardigan included)
I even wore full suits on ordinary days...
Constant questions from my peers curiosity about, whether or not it was laundry day soon faded, when everyone noticed I volunteered to dress up for no reason, but to feel good.

My parents have encouraged me to chase my dreams and not let anyone stand in my way.
I grew up being in everything and anything...
I honestly always wanted to CONQUER lol...
But I am motivated by challenges...

From Singing to Writing Songs to PR-Consulting to Photographer to Producer to Play/skit writer to a Performer... I have worn and will continue to wear many HATS.
Here some of my photography

DC-Bred, Jersey Raised with a NY- as my Playground....
I am apart of a Creative outlet group called, "Ars Gratia Artis," which simply means "Art for Art's sake."
Out of NJ, 3 men (including me) have come together to release our creativity in each and every single way we can. We are not limited to clothing products or anyone's standards. Our only limit is that REST is needed for health reasons... We all would be up all night-EVERY NITE! lol...
But I shall post a better introduction of the AGA outlet...
I am BACK!

 Who Scared? lol
